The Important Bits

This is the friendly version. If anything here conflicts with the full Terms & Conditions below, the Terms win.

**How do my classes work?**

Your plan gives you a set number of 30-minute classes each week, at a fixed time that is yours — same day, same time, every week. Group classes have a maximum of 3 students. On a **Verballed Flex** plan, you choose each week: join your group class, or take a private 1-2-1 lesson instead.

**What level is required?**
If you can follow this page, you are ready. Classes are designed for intermediate and advanced learners who already understand English but want more confidence speaking it.

**When are classes available?**
Available class times are shown when you join or book. Your chosen slot then stays the same each week unless you request a change and another slot is available.

**What if I miss a week?**

Unused classes expire every Sunday night and do not roll over. It works like a gym membership: the schedule is the value. If you know you will be away, pause instead — see below.

**Why so strict?**

It keeps groups small, consistent and actually running. Stacked-up classes would mean unpredictable groups for everyone.

**Can I cancel a class?**

Yes — with 12 or more hours notice you can move to another class in the same week (if a seat is free). With less than 12 hours notice the class is lost. No exceptions — this is what we pay your tutor with.

**What if I do not turn up?**

Your tutor waits 10 minutes, then the class is marked missed and lost.

**What if the tutor does not turn up, or we cancel your class?**

You get the class back — rescheduled the same week, or if no time that week works for you, it carries over to the following week. This should be very rare; tutor reliability is the thing we hire for.

**Going on holiday?**

Pause your plan for 1–4 whole weeks, once per billing period. Ask us before the Monday your break starts. Your plan end date extends by the paused days and your seat is kept — you lose nothing.

**How does billing work?**

Plans auto-renew. Monthly is the standard rate; 3-month and annual plans are cheaper. You can switch off renewal at any time and finish the period you paid for — manage your subscription anytime at [our billing portal](https://billing.stripe.com/p/login/fZecQ0aUgdDF4804gg) (log in with the email you used at checkout).

**Can I get a refund?**

Within 14 days of buying, yes: a full refund if you have taken no classes. If you took classes, we refund what you paid minus those classes charged at the standard monthly rate (discounts only apply to completed commitments). After 14 days, no refunds — just switch off renewal.

*Worked example: you buy an annual plan at a discount, take 2 classes in week one, then cancel on day 10. You get your money back minus 2 classes at the monthly rate — not the discounted annual rate.*

**What do I need?**

Stable internet, a microphone, ideally a camera. Classes run on video call — the link is in your booking confirmation and reminders.

**Timezones?**

Class times are shown in your timezone when you book. The 12-hour cancellation rule counts back from the class start, so timezones never matter.

**Only student that week?**

The class still runs — enjoy your private lesson at no extra cost.

  Terms & Conditions

Version 1.0 — July 2026

 1. Who we are and definitions

These terms govern your use of English classes provided by Verballed ("we", "us"), operating at verballed.com. By purchasing a Plan you agree to these terms.

- **"Class"** — a scheduled 30-minute online lesson delivered by a Verballed tutor: a group lesson with a maximum of 3 students or, on a Flex Plan, a private 1-2-1 lesson where chosen.

- **"Slot"** — the fixed weekly day and time of your Class. Your seat in a Slot is reserved to you while your Plan is active.

- **"Week"** — Monday 00:00 to Sunday 23:59, UK time. Times are always displayed to you in your local timezone at booking.

- **"Plan"** — a subscription giving you a set number of Classes per Week in your reserved Slot(s). Plans are offered as **Group** (group Classes) or **Verballed Flex** (each Week you choose a group Class or a private 1-2-1 Class).

 2. Plans, pricing and renewal

- Plans are billed as auto-renewing subscriptions. Pricing depends on the billing period you choose: Monthly (standard rate), 3-Month (discounted) and Annual (most discounted). Current prices are shown at checkout.

- Your Plan renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you turn off renewal, which you can do at any time before the renewal date via our [billing portal](https://billing.stripe.com/p/login/fZecQ0aUgdDF4804gg) or by contacting us. Turning off renewal does not shorten the period you have already paid for.

- We may change prices with at least 30 days notice; changes apply from your next renewal, never mid-period.

 3. Weekly usage — use it or lose it

- Your Plan includes a set number of Classes each Week. Your weekly allowance refreshes every Monday at 00:00 UK time.

- Unused Classes expire at the end of each Week. They do not roll over, accumulate, or convert to credit or refunds. This keeps groups consistent and classes running for everyone.

- **Exception:** if WE cancel your Class (for example, tutor unavailability) we will offer an alternative Class the same Week; if no alternative that Week works for you, that Class carries over to the following Week.

 4. Your Slot, group size and Flex choice

- Classes run in fixed weekly Slots with a maximum of 3 students. Your seat in your Slot is reserved while your Plan is active and paid.

- Classes run regardless of group size — if you are the only student that week, the Class still runs as a private lesson at no extra charge.

- On a Flex Plan, you choose group or 1-2-1 for each Week's Class when scheduling it, subject to available times.

- We allocate tutors to Classes. We aim for consistency but do not guarantee a specific tutor. Persistent tutor changes you are unhappy with can be raised with us at any time.

- You may request to change Slot at any time; changes are subject to available seats and take effect the following Week.

 5. Rescheduling, cancellation and no-shows

- Cancelling with 12 or more hours notice before your Class: you may reschedule into another available Class in the same Week, subject to space. If no alternative exists, the Class is forfeited when the Week ends (see section 3).

- Cancelling with less than 12 hours notice: the Class is forfeited. No refund or credit is given, and the tutor is compensated.

- No-show: your tutor will wait 10 minutes from the scheduled start. After 10 minutes the Class is marked as missed and forfeited.

- Arriving late: the Class still ends at its scheduled time.

- The 12-hour rule is measured against the scheduled Class start time and is unaffected by timezones.

 6. Pausing your Plan

- You may pause your Plan for 1, 2, 3 or 4 whole Weeks, once per billing period.

- Pause requests must reach us before the Monday 00:00 UK start of the first paused Week. Mid-week pauses are not possible.

- During a pause you cannot attend or book Classes. Your Plan end date extends by the number of paused days, so you lose no value. Your seat in your Slot is held for you.

- Weekly allowances already expired before the pause are not restored (section 3 still applies).

 7. Refunds

- 14-day cooling-off: within 14 days of first purchase, if you have attended no Classes, you receive a full refund.

- Within 14 days with Classes attended: we refund the amount paid minus the Classes you used, recalculated at the standard (non-discounted) Monthly rate. Discounted 3-Month and Annual rates only apply to completed commitments.

- After 14 days: payments are non-refundable, but you may turn off renewal at any time and your Plan runs to the end of its paid period.

- Renewal payments: the 14-day rule applies afresh to each renewal charge, on the same recalculation basis.

- Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights under UK consumer law.

 8. Classes, conduct and technology

- Classes are delivered by video call (currently Zoom or Google Meet). You need a stable internet connection, a device with a microphone, and ideally a camera. Technical failure on your side does not entitle you to a refund or make-up; technical failure on ours does.

- Be respectful to tutors and fellow students. We may remove a student from a Class or terminate a Plan (with pro-rata refund) for abusive, discriminatory or disruptive behaviour.

- Classes may not be recorded by students without everyone's consent. We may record occasionally for quality purposes with advance notice.

- Verballed classes are for adults: students must be 18 or older. We may ask for verification and cancel (with pro-rata refund) any account found to be under 18.

 9. Materials and intellectual property

- Lesson materials remain the property of Verballed. You may use them for personal study but not redistribute or resell them.

 10. General

- We may update these terms with 30 days notice; continued use after the notice period is acceptance. Material changes give you the right to cancel with a pro-rata refund of any unused period.

- Our liability is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months before a claim; nothing limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales.
